Yamaha G1 Homemade Lift Kit
How can i raise up the back of my g1 with out buying the 250.00 Kit. I have the front raised 5 inches. I have seen how people made homemade lift kits for the G1's. Anyone got pics or diagrams??
Thanks |

Re: Yamaha G1 Homemade Lift Kit
Usually the front is a lot harder than the rear? Lets see how you did the front? I'm not a Yami guy but I believe they were all swing arm types so taller shocks or mounts? But 5 is a lot? Could tip your engine too much? Maybe one of the yami guys will chime in.... How about some pics?

Re: Yamaha G1 Homemade Lift Kit
For the front i made drop brackets and droped the A arms down. The front took me like an Hour an a half. Wouldn't longer stiffer shocks kick that back up a little? I will try to get some pics. I saw i think on this site like a year ago where a guy lifted up his G1 homemade style and it looked great. I think i could make a drop bracket for that back shock? i think thats how that guy did it.

you can buy these for 50 to 75 a pair on e-bay and they will give you all the lift you want if you make the brakets.

Re: Yamaha G1 Homemade Lift Kit
just lower the top mounts of the existing shocks but when you do that the bolt on the clutch is going to hit the frame you need to dent the frame in or cut it out some .
