programming an alltrax 400, HD solenoid?

Hello,
I recently downloaded the newer version of the alltrax software and after plugging in the serial adapter, the program did not find the controller. I have a 97 DCS with 400 amp alltrax DCX. I bought the controller in 2007 and did not have the mfg date. I want to put a new HD solenoid on it as well, so I thought I would check the controller then for a date and possbibly try the older software version. Question is, I was looking on Scottie B's page and he shows the 200amp continuous HD solenoid with diode and resistor, Is that the one I need? I assume it has the OEM solenoid now.

Download #39 for 2006 and newer should be the correct software for your cart. Did you remember that the cable needs to have the driver installed and the controller needs to have the LED lighted BEFORE you open the program?

Yes the HD 200 amp solenoid on my website is the correct solenoid for this control. Thank you for asking

Not sure what you mean that the cable needs the driver installed, can you give me directions on that please. I was using a laptop with windows XP. I ordered a plain jane usb serial cable from the internet.

USB to serial cables require a driver just like a keyboard or a mouse. What cable exactly did you get? can you link us to the sale?

The drivers are here - be sure to select the right one for your cable and your operating system. Remember the control must have the LED lighted before you open the program or you will get 'can't find control' error all day long...
