So - I was hoping you guys would agree with the following.

It couldn't be a bad cell or brushes - as that wouldn't allow it to work perfectly fine with full power again. So it is probably a cable connection issue that works when positioned correctly, but no so good when jarred or moved slightly.

I will begin looking, but thought I would see if I am on the right path with my limited diagnostic skills.
You are on the right path.....

Ok - here's some pics of that terminal/cable where the mystery beads were - before and after a quick wire brushing.

I might add that the consistency of the material did not feel metallic - if that is relevant.

well if it were me......I would just clean the "mystery goo" off....and the connections real good, pit it back together and look it the connection, like every day to try to figure out where its coming from.

I agree that if it is intermittent that it is probably not a bad cell. I didn't read the intermittent part. Probably bad connection.

I wonder of the arcing has caused the grease/lubricant on the cable ends to "burn"?

I think the fact that these beads are all so uniform, almost identical, that would lead me to believe that they are not caused arcing. I would think arcing would create slightly different shapes. Correct? While termite (or other insect) poop would all be the same.

And I would like to again thank everyone - and report that so far, so good with the cart. And I even think it has a bit more pep after cleaning up a few of the worst terminals. But that could be my imagination. You know, like when your car runs better after a good wash and wax. :)

thinking something like that......look directly above the piles there on the seat....might there be a small hole like a insect has bored a hole?? I mean MOST of our seat bottoms ARE wood.....
