Just did a search and it looks like it might be drywood termite fecal droppings. I'm wondering........if they were there when you bought the cart, maybe the cart was left somewhere with the seat off and the termites were at the previous owners place?

I have never seen any bug crap so confined to one area, these bugs are rather tidy for "not so smart bugs". I do not feel it is from arcing of any type, the resulting "splatter" from arcing is hot enough to lodge itself in the plastic. And the volume of material would have to come from somewhere, where is it missing from (hint: if it was your terminal or cable, you would notice a lot missing). Could it possibly be from someones bag of grass seed for divot holes?

If your cart has a Run/Tow switch it has re-gen braking.

To answer the sparking question, about not sparking when removing the cable and sparking when reattaching. Your controller has a bunch of capacitors in it, they store power for short amounts of time. When you disconnect the cable they are full and equalized with the battery pack so there is no spark. When you reconnect they have lost some of their charge and try to fill up really fast and you see a spark.

Just searched a little more. I noticed those white things too. At first I thought they were leaves..........but I believe those are termite wings. Do a search of drywood termites and you'll see the wings and the fecal droppings. That's my final answer. :)

Winner winner chicken dinner After you posted about the wings I went back and looked at the picture again. Yep I see them and they look like termite wings and droppings.
