2013 EZGO RXV Speed
I have just purchased a 2013 RXV that's has the speed setting on Fleet. How can I get the speed adjusted up? I was told when I purchased the cart it was set at Freedom speed however, after checking it to GPS speed its only 12 mph...
Is there software that I can download and do it myself with a laptop...? or What...? Any recommendations would be very helpful... I have found out that mine has a Curtis controller if this helps... |

You need to take it to a dealer. There is a special plug in hand computer that does it. They may charge you for doing this.

Re: 2013 EZGO RXV Speed
If "freedom mode" is enabled, the dealer (or someone with the curtis handheld programmer) could adjust it to 19mph (potentially free, or minor service fee). If "freedom mode" is not enabled, the only solution (besides HS gears, not great idea for RXV) is paying the dealer to enable "freedom mode", this will surely cost you money, as the "freedom mode" unlock tool only works 20 times before its done and costs tons of money.

Re: 2013 EZGO RXV Speed
Any updates? I'm curious if it's worth it to buy an aftermarket controller in anticipation of buying a better motor down the line versus paying the cost to have it put into freedom mode and adjusted to the max mph?

Re: 2013 EZGO RXV Speed
Unlocking freedom mode should not cost much.
Yes , key is expensive, but not overly so. Stock controller is quite satisfactory for RXV, No need to upgrade unless looking for extreme performance. |

Re: 2013 EZGO RXV Speed
I paid the standard one hour labor charge to have mine done. It was $85.00. I have the older non Curtis controller on my 2009.

Re: 2013 EZGO RXV Speed
The older models is a secret code, but same for all Danaher controllers. You are just paying for their knowledge and time to do the programming (which is fair, they have to get paid in order to keep the doors open).
