Default alltrax 400dcx

So I installed a new alltrax 400dcx in my ezgo 98 DCS and the top speed I got was 17,I only had time to drive it a mile or .5 mile, but I was thinking it would be a little faster than that. It is still on factory tires and factory motor, I upgraded the wires to 4 gauge and the solenoid to a 200 amp 800 peak one. Just wanted to check and see if this was about right, I was expecting a little more. I also don't have the programming stuff, this is the one I have ever done and don't really know if it's right. I was at about 13 mph and it was only hitting 17 while going slightly down hill then 15 to 16 going slightly uphill

Anymore information y'all need or pics or anything? Or do I need to buy a program cord and check the settings? If so do I have to purchase software as well? Any idea what all that costs? Thanks for any help I can get

For a DCX controller, you need a USB to serial adapter. Not all USB to serial adapters work, so get one of the ones recommended on the Alltrax website. (IIRC, I paid about $6.00 for the one I have.)

The programming software (Controller Pro) is free and can be downloaded from the Alltrax website.

I think it ought to be a little faster than 17 MPH also. (Typically in the low 20's on 18" tires at 38.2V with standard stock DCS motor and controller in Turbo mode.)

What is the battery pack voltage about 12 hours after the charger shuts off automatically?

Did you replace all 10 of the high current cables?

What pressure are the tires inflated to?

Does cart push freely by hand?

Pictures are always a plus.

Tires at about 18 psi, I checked the batteries after what I thought was a full charge and they were at 37.4, I did replace all 10 cables, yes it does roll freely or seems too. Since I haven't really messed with golf carts before I just wanted to check to see if it all looks right. My batteries are getting about 4 yrs old but all test out at 6.5 or so

Gotta get those batteries up to max charge. Then drive it with DVM probes stuck in charge port so you can monitor voltage while driving. After getting them charged, Post the "while driving" results for us to see.

Just checked it and it said it's at 38.2, so I stuck the probes in the charger port and as I'm backing up slow it drops to 37.2 then on take off full throttle it drops to 33.0 and starts to slowly rise back up and was cruising for the short distance I drove it at 35.8 then I let off and it upped to 39.2 and then after stopped back to 38.06. Not sure if this is the correct way you wanted me to test it? It's dark out now so I just have a short distance of road I could get it up and running on

That control needs to breath cut the cover and install just the top 1/3 see instruction below. Surprised the store you bought it from didn't tell you that.

Man scotty, I am not pleased with the place I bought it, I was planning to buy from you the whole time but it was out of stock and then I found these and I had to hurry and get it done for deer season and then bam 2 days after I order you get it back in stock. I won't make that mistake again. No instructions or anything with it, just had to try and figure it out
Seriously though, if it wasn't for the fact of deer season and probably not having the money for it much longer I was going to hold out till you received some more in, I just knew you told me you didn't know when you would have anymore in so I figured I needed to get one that was still out there since they were back ordered, everything else is coming from you as I get the money for it

33.0v at full load is a ok level, was it still slow after a full charge? Is motor stock? Did they tell you what field map was loaded? Have you checked for the controller detecting 100% throttle (green led will turn orange when at 100%)?
