Default Burning smell

I just rebuilt a 98 txt. Ordered a spm48400 with 200amp solenoid from scottyb. I was out riding tonight and lights blinked and cart quit. Smelled like something was burning. Solenoid no longer clicks and resistor gets too hot to touch. Did I burn up the solenoid, any help is welcomed.

The resistor gets blazing hot when the solenoid does not close the motor tries to draw full power through the resistor. There are 26 cable ends in the cart. Count and check them all for heat damage.
