Default 1996 Ezgo txt 36V Beeping when key is off!

I'm new to this forum and I'd appreciate some help. Cart worked fine; drove it home and plugged it in; several hours later it started to beep when keys off. I unplugged it and switched it to maintenance mode and back to run and beeping noise stops. However, when I press the gas pedal the cart won't move f/r and it starts beeping again. One time I did the same sequence (maintenance mode to run mod) and I pressed down the gas pedal really slowly and the cart did move forward but stopped moving once I put the pedal further down. Only way to get beeping to stop is to put it back on maintenance both.

Is it the solenoids?? Is it the micro switches??

Thanks in advance!

We need to know which drive system your cart has.
Since it has a RUN/Tow switch, it is either a DCS or a PDS.
Pre 2000 was DCS and Post 2000 was PDS.

Oops, just noticed the model year in header, it is a DCS.

Also:

Is the beep a steady tone or a series of beeps?

Does the solenoid click when the pedal is pushed?

What is the battery pack voltage?

--------
Probably a bad controller, but have to do some troubleshooting to be sure.

Since it is a DCS, it is most likely the controller. The Curtis 1206SX has no under voltage protection and fails often, so replace it with an Alltrax DCX or XCT aftermarket controller.

For a 36V cart, what should the controller amps be?

A 36v DCS cart should be 38.2v fully charged. This is the same voltage you should read between controller B- and M- terminals when the solenoid just clicks on. As the pedal is pressed down the voltage number should drop indicating the control is passing voltage.

One look at the picture and I'm about 99.999% sure the stock DCS controller is bad.

A stock DCS controller is 300A, but most people replace it with a DCX400 to gain a bit more torque at the low end.
At the high end, any ampacity DCX controller will up the top speed to about 20MPH on stock height (18") tires with a 36V battery pack.

Check out the #505 kit towards the bottom of the linked webpage: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/alltrax-dcx-controls.html

Also check out the XCT kits for a DCS. It is the latest technology, but more expensive.

LoL - I didn't look at the pic of the case melted open. I'd say she got too hot a time or too.
