Default Alltrax Hesitates at Full Throttle

I installed a 500a Alltrax controller, thanks to David at Revolution Golf Cars, on my 2014 Precedent and noticed a hesitation at full throttle that’s off and on. I have a feeling it has to do with the MCOR but I figured I’d ask since I have limited troubleshooting time.

The XCT is easy to diagnose with the Alltrax Toolkit. It's a free download on the Alltrax website. All you need is a basic USB printer cable and a laptop PC. Once you're plugged in, if you'll call me I'll help walk you through the steps to figure out your issue.

Like David said the Altrax software is great to troubleshoot the issue, but it does sound like the MCOR is fluctuating.

What I noticed on mine was that there was a small amount of free play on the Pedal assembly itself, so when Your foot is all the way down, it was possible to rock the pedal ever so slightly but that would cause the MCOR shaft to move.

I posted on how to set and use the Alltrax software to do a "higher resolution" monitor on the throttle rather than using the "monitor" screen bar-graph.

I also shimmed my Pedal assembly and the jitter was completely gone as observed on the monitor screen.

Here is the post: Possible MCOR Jitter fix

You might also try clearing the auto-cal in one of the pull down menus. It will then recalibrate your max and min settings for the throttle.

You can do that or if the MCOR signal is jumpy in the just the top spot you can click and drag the 100% down to the 95 or 90% mark on the throttle graph to fix that problem

Finally got around to adding Alltrax ToolKit to my MacBook. The software was very helpful with troubleshooting. Adjusting the throttle position at 90% to equal 100% output helped a lot. I noticed applying pressure to right side of pedal helped even more. I’m thinking a piece of aluminum angle used to shim the pedal assembly will help even more. My 1.5 yr old loves running 29 mph through the neighborhood. Thanks for all the advice!

If You shim the pedal assembly like I did on that post it will eliminate the hesitation throughout the range without losing 10% pedal resolution.

A slight lower "throttle rate" (less than 40%) also helps reduce the effects of fluctuations in the MCOR signal.

There are all sorts of things to customize for your driving preference like: Regen, plug brake, speed and torque curves, etc...

Loosing 10% throttle resolution!?
You mean getting to WOT 10% faster - don't you?
