I have HIGH SPEED gears in mine with 22” tires. My RPMS will be significantly lower than yours.

I will let you know the RPMS as soon as I go for a ride!

Ok, just got back from a 4 mile drive.
At 28 mph (per GPS), Tachometer read right at 2000 rpms.
Again, I have high speed gears, so the RPM’s will run lower

After making one more modification to the stock governer spring and readjusting the intake and exhaust valves, I finally hit the max speed of my cart without hitting the rev limiter, 33mph! This was done on a flat straight away near my home. When I looked down at the tachometer it read 2,600 rpms. This is the screen shot from speedometer app on my iPhone!

That's pretty impressive CPS! On a side note, I always thought the max safe RPM was 4000.

You are correct, the MAX safe RPM would be close to 4000,but never go over this!

Default Tachometer RPM verification pictures

Equus Tach Verification Pictures:
I just went out to the cart and took a few pictures of my extremely accurate Oppama Tachometer then a split second later took a picture of the Equus tachometer. As I turned from taking the picture of the Oppama Tach reading to take the picture of the Equus tach reading, the engine was warming up so the rpms were dropping. So in the Equus tach reading pictures, you will notice they are about 100 RPM’s or less off. I only have two hands, so when I hold the accelerator pedal steady, both the Oppama and Equus gauge were spot on.

You made an excellent choice for your tachometer. It's accurate and spot on with the numbers. I wish the lead on the pickup was a foot longer as I have a 10 inch frame stretch. I matched a 3-3/8" GPS analog speedometer with it and It's great having them on one panel.

Shepard,
You are correct, and I like the one in your picture too! I personally chose the all black Equus Tach because I was going for the “all black” look on my cart.
Thanks,
CPS

My personal goal was to get my cart to do at least 30mph before I stopped modifying my engine and transaxle (that’s what I told the wife anyway, lol). So now that the cart hit 33mph, I will call that a victory, and enjoy the cart!

And.......start saving for my BIG BLOCK conversion! Hehehehe
