Default 87 Ezgo clutch engagement clunk

A year ago I replaced the driven clutch on the differential. It now has started to leak around the front seal " did not replace" and is clunks when the slack is taken out of the drive line. It feels like the pinion shaft has excessive play. Anybody run into a similar issue?

After posting there was a couple threads on clutch clunks. Don't know why they did show on the search. One thought was to check the spring. Looks like I will have to remove the driven clutch to inspect.

I mild 'clunk' is somewhat normal especially when reversing motion, meaning from forward to reverse or reverse to forward. It's gap in the driven clutch ramps...........

On the differential seal;
Mine leaks too, I think your 87 is the same as my 85 and I haven't been able to find a replacement seal yet, The OEM part number is obsolete. When the season is over here in a few weeks I plan on removing the driven clutch to mic it for the inner seal measurement and also the diff diameter for the outside measurement, Hopefully I can get a new one that way...

IF you do come up with a part number for that seal please post it up and I'll do the same......

I have not been successful in finding a seal and was going to measure it and go to the industrial supply store.

I found this site with a seal and offer other parts. The dimensions match the #472164
