Re: Replace Rear Spring Shackel
Textbook way would be to remove the rear body, but if you’re careful you can cheat it. Remove the two Phillips head bolts that hold the bag well to the frame and gently pry the body up to clear those bolts.

Re: Replace Rear Spring Shackel
Depends on the year. What year is the Precedent? Do you have 1 piece shackles or 2 piece shackles?

Re: Replace Rear Spring Shackel
I'm new to the Forum, but the real issue is to change the bushings. I'll give it a try. Anyone else that has experience: I'm open to giving anything a try.

Re: Replace Rear Spring Shackel
There's 3 bolts on the frame in the immediate area of the shackle. The one that holds the actual shackle in place has a nut on the back of it. The other two are threaded into a nutsert in the other side of the frame. Remove the two outer bolts to relieve the tension on the shackle, remove the shackle bolt, and the shackle will pull right out. Of course, you've gotta get the weight off of the cart first. You can do this by jacking up the cart and putting it on jack stands, and re-inserting the jack under the differential and putting just enough pressure on it to get the weight off of the bushings. The shackles should come out effortlessly.
