Default Starter generator getting hot

Hello, I’m new to the forum and golf carts in general . I bought a 2015 ez go gas cart this summer . We would ride it for a few hours and it would completely die . Took it to the shop and battery was dead . They brought it back , ran it another weekend and it died again , took it to the shop and thought loose connection on solonoid . Ran it another weekend and it died again . This time the shop replaced the starter generator and solonoid . I ran it today all day with no issues . My first question is how hot should starter generator get ? It gets hot to where I couldn’t keep my hand on it for more then few seconds . Also the engine seems hot , how hot is normal ? Also what is a safe amount of time to run a gas cart for continuous? Thank you

if you can touch the SG and not get burned after a few seconds then its fine. as for the motor if its running fine and no issues then its not getting to hot. you should be able to run these carts all day long with no issues

Thank you for your response . It gets pretty hot, I can put the back side of my hand on it , but if I left it there I’d prob get burned, but I can touch it for a few seconds . Before it was replaced though it was so hot you couldn’t touch it .
