Default Precedent IQ Slow in forward, really slow uphil, fast in reverse

I'm helping a friend with his PQ0829 cub car. From reading these forums I have confirmed...

Cart DOES have run/tow switch = it is a Regen (Regenerative Braking) cart.

Motor DOES have speed sensor wire protruding from the end head = then it is a Regen motor.

Motor has a thick Green and White wire, and a slightly thinner blue and orange wire (4 terminals)

The cart seems super peppy in reverse (and buzzer does sound when switch is in reverse) but is slow in forward and really slow up a hill.

Checked each battery voltage (all 4 are about 12.65v) after sitting for 5 days off the charger with no use. Water level is good in all.

Cleaned the 3-pin (speed) connector that comes off the back of the motor, noticed the rubber orange seal was skewered over one of the pins, corrected that.

Cart is still slow in forward. What should I check/replace?

Found an "extra" black wire with a yellow quick connect female plug on the end - in the battery compartment - not sure if that's for some option I don't have, or it should go somewhere.

Sounds like the speed sensor is bad and the cart is running in limp mode. Look under the “sticky” for speed sensor test.
Hope this helps.
