EZ-Go Battery Modification
Has anyone here ever attempted to use 3 - 12V deep cycle marine batteries in place of 6-6V trojans on a 36 volt cart?
I would like to lighten an old cart I'm restoring as well as keep a few dollars in my pocket. |

Re: EZ-Go Battery Modification
....... only about every other week or so .........
They won't like the abuse of deep discharging and eventually they will give poor performance and short life.... costing more money in the long run! |

Re: EZ-Go Battery Modification
Scotty, how much life do you think I could expect from them with the cart only being used an hour or two at a time and only once or twice a week?

Re: EZ-Go Battery Modification
I really don't know? Maybe somebody who has tried it will chime in?
Even "deep cycle" batteries are not made to take the radical discharge demands of an electric vehicle.... I have never tried it and people who have have , never come back and said well, you were right they only lasted 6 months or 3 mos???? |

Re: EZ-Go Battery Modification
Please use the search feature and contact those that have already attempted this. As Scotty said - someone seems to try this about once a week. There's plenty of information available here that has already been said about your question..
