Ramp Buttons
How often do you replace the ramp buttons and how do you do it?
Can you check them without taking the clutch out? .45 ACP because shooting twice is silly |

Re: Ramp Buttons
I'm not sure bout the hours of use on the buttons but you will be able to tell when the wear affects the cam ramps. I don't know of any way to check them without takin the clutch off and apart. You have to remove the clutch, compress the cam and take the snap ring off. This will allow the cam and outer sheave to pop off exposing the buttons. Reassembly requires preloading the spring when you install the cam. Do a thread search and some pics might pop up for ya.

Re: Ramp Buttons
The EZGO service rep told me the rear clutches life is an average of 5 years. Now this is for a golf course. I have seen the wear out in 1 year to last up to 10 years.

Re: Ramp Buttons
The few clutches I have replaced buttons in had no symptoms of failure in the near future, but when I dissasembled the clutch the buttons were worn badly. Also the cam and sheave ramps were rubbing together causing some wear. Several of the clutches had no problems, I just was checking to make sure and found the buttons to be worn completely out.

Re: Ramp Buttons
I find every clutch I take apart has buttons which are long gone and the ramps damaged from lack of buttons... So I say replace them ~ They are inexpensive and the helix is not
