There's a lot of guys here with good advice. It really doesn't take long scanning this forum to see who is willing and most importantly ABLE to help. I am a bit of a novice on the 2-strokes myself. I did rebuild a 90 EZ-GO for my dad this past fall. They are pretty easy to work on. And any questions you have while working on it, you can find the answers right here on the forum. Either by searching and finding other threads or by posting your own questions.
Yeah, I was talking crank bearings. You may not need them. They're big heavy ball bearing types. We could have gotten by without changing dad's, but the cart had set for quite some time and locked up. The bearings were pretty rusty when we got it apart. We filled the crankcase up with oil and let it soak for a couple days. Things broke loose and probably could have reused them. Not really worth it while you have it a part.
Hope you get as much enjoyment out of your cart as we have ours!

Thanks for the offer, I will probably take you up on it. Hoping the 90 is close to the 85 mechanically.
