Newbie from North Carolina
Hello all my name is Mark and this is my first post on here. For fathers day my wife and kids bought me a 2009 EZGO TXT PDS. This is my first cart and will moslty be used in and around our neighborhood and the campground we frequent. Hate to start my first post with a question but I was told by the gentlemen they purchased it from that the only way to install a stereo is the overhead kind, which I really dont want. He stated that I could not put one in the ball holder in the dash as it would hit the front cowling but after looking around here it seems that is not true as I have seen that some of you have done this. So basically my question is can I install a stereo in the ball holder on my cart? Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Newbie from North Carolina
Welcome to BGW! You can install a radio into the ball cup holder. If you search the forum you should find plenty of pictures of installed. I installed a Pyle marine stereo/mp3 in my mother-in-law's cart which was an '08 PDS. I used a dash cover though which made it a little easier (at least in my opinion). I'll post a pic below.

Re: Newbie from North Carolina
I have an old school am/fm/cd with SD, USB, iPod, and 1/8" aux input. I find that I use the 1/8" aux in, as I have an iPod, and nearly everyone has a smart phone, that they can plug in and listen to tunes on. I mounted my stereo in an overhead console, and some have commented that they can't use their CD players, but mine never skips, even on big bumps.
Others have forgone the CD, and purchased really small units that will take an aux in. Maybe check for marine or motorcycle units, as well as car units. |

Welcome mark, you can put a radio just about any where you want, some of the guys put them in the glove box, and they make a motorcycle radio some of the members have used, but you can put one in the ball holder. I see you are down the road from me across the state line.

Re: Newbie from North Carolina
Thanks for the replies gentlemen, I figured the guy at the shop was just trying to get me to let him install the overhead one. Going to pick me up a stereo today and tackle this one myself.
