1995 Accelerator works backwards

replaced curtis 1205 117 controler and now when I depress the accelerator, at first I get full throttle, then as I push petal to the floor, the cart slows as if the throttle is working in reverse order

The standard throttle input to a Curtis 1205 controller is 0-5K, but there are ones with optional 5K-0 input. Sounds like you might have gotten one of the latter from your vendor.

Pull the throttle input wires off the controller an measure resistance between them with an Ohmmeter. Should be less than 300 ohms with pedal up and 4,500 Ohms or more with pedal on floor, but less than 7,000 Ohms.

If your potbox (throttle) is working as described above, you need to contact your vendor to get a controller with correct throttle setup.

Or you could rewire the potentiometer in your potbox to give you a 5K-0 output.
