2008 Precedent lift ?
My wheels are rubbing and I think a 1" lift is in order. Can i do that without a lift kit?

Re: 2008 Precedent lift ?
Well I decided to do this on my own, So fabbed some spacers for under the front spring, probably raised 3/4 inch.
Then in back got some spring perchs and moved the springs above the axel. Had to fab some stuff cuz I could not find the right sixe u bolts. Now the only problems are the shocks in the rear are a little short and think I need some different ones. Other problem is barely any braking, think I need an adjustment, thought it would be opposite and my brakes would drag due to cable lengths stretching a little.. If anyone has some brake adjustment pointers fire away. Put some pics for ya, cost about $50 in parts. |

Fixed the braking by adjusting the bolt under the floor assembly, everything appears to be OK now.

. . . you may be able to get away using stud extenders on the shocks . . .

Re: 2008 Precedent lift ?
That might work, thanks Steve.
I am concerned about safety and have a couple questions. Since I could not find the right ubolt, I used 5 inch 3/8 zinc coated bolts with a flat metal top plate going over the spring. Also the perch is not currently welded to the axel. I am thinking the correct ubolt would offer more strength and that the perch should be welded, any thoughts? |

. . . don't know about the "perch", but the bolts should be grade 5, so they don't stretch/break . . .

Upgraded everyting to grade 5. Had to extend shocks Fishing Dudes way. All in good, wow a 4 inch lift and now wheels look puny. Another $200 for new back tires. Cart is gunna look like a dragster.
