Re: New xct400pds
Great feature - I dislike setting the parking brake every time I jump out to close a gate or ? So it's a real convenience to to have the cart tell me if it is rolling.

Re: New xct400pds
From what I can tell so far, the XCTxxxPDS is a Curtis 1206MX (stock 36V PDS controller) on steroids.
All the features, plus being able to program the performance characteristics. In addition, it is usable at higher pack voltages and you can keep data logs. Also looks like there are some enhancements in the pipeline. |

Re: New xct400pds
Last week I was told that with the optional fan the 400 can sustain higher outputs. I put this on my wish list.
Meanwhile back at the ranch - I pulled my Es-63-49 off my 42v 2008 PDS with the DCX control and re-installed the stock motor. Now I have two 42v PDS with stock tires and motors. One with DCX400 and one with XCT400. Great comparison to jump in them both. |

Re: New xct400pds
Between rainy days, Dr. appointments, medical tests and procedures, I haven't had the opportunity to wring it out good in the hillier areas, but the Fan Status Flag gets set quite a bit, so I probably will get a fan for it.
I did have it stop working a few times on one trip through town with SWMBO on-board. It didn't flash a red LED error code and I didn't have a laptop connected, so no file to review for error flags. I suspect it was overtemp shutdown, but no way of knowing for sure. Hasn't happened again. |

Re: New xct400pds
On any motor controller where a fan is an "available option", to me, it is not an "option", but "shall be ordered with". I live in the desert, and we all know how electronics love heat & heating-cooling cycles.

Re: New xct400pds
Roger that, the desert is hard on everything. I lived in the Mojave desert for 20 years. I saw temps from 136º - 7º
As I was told, installing the fan and duct kit unlocks output limits in the control. |

Re: New xct400pds
"Unlocks" as in "allows you to select", or "enhances the usability of"? Let us know. I have not ordered a Xct without a fan (and cant see that happening either).

Re: New xct400pds
YUK! 6.0 no bueno. Ours did same thing (i think they all will, when is the question). Delete kit & Sct tuner made it a beast (better be pointing intended direction when go-pedal is mashed) i like the power, just not as dependable as the 7.3.
