This older DS platform is well respected around here.
I understand you are trying to get it up and going and you can.
It's also a good candidate for nice upgrades.

First you have some cable and battery upgrades that must be done well.
Second you may have some F/R switch issues that exist or will show up soon.
Motor may fine but should be removed, cleaned and inspected for excessive brush and bearing wear.

Resistor coils and glide need inspection also to insure no broke coils and good coil connections.

Ok now if all is well and you are running then inspect the brakes!

Also time to look at suspension. Bushing replacements and wheel bearing greasing repack.

Good luck with this project, I think you have a great starting base.

Clues - more modern steering wheel, but body looks like fiberglass, so that should narrow the search a bit if someone knows when CC switched to molded plastic. What roof is that? Kinda looks like an older Yamaha roof? It's a 36v series / resistor cart; as Raystar spotted.

My guess is a late 90's cart. As someone noted, roof is not stock.

The single solenoid, V-Glide system is pretty simple. Should be easy to troubleshoot.

Bear, look at my thread from April of this year: "2000 DS Resistor Cart Solenoid."

You will find troubleshooting tips and a very nice wiring diagram for your cart.

Note: I did not do the "High speed bypass" thing.

Thanks, Raystar. I've gone through most of your list except for the motor and brakes, I figured that I would do that when installing the lift and HD rear springs

Also, worth mentioning is the motor studs. Should you decide for whatever reason to remove the cables from the motor, soak them down with wd-40 or something similar. Then use 2 wrenches to remove the nut.

Looked at your post and sounds like you were having the same problem I am, have a new solenoid coming via UPS today. Thanks also for the motor stud tip.

That would help identify your cart.

What tag? The serial number sticker/plate under the glove box is missing.
