Radio cutting out going down hills
Hi all, I hav3 a 2014 club car precedent with light kit, lifted, alltrax500 xct and when i go down hills only the radio powers off and then when I level out it comes back on. The lights don’t dim and everything else is fine. Any ideas on what to check? . Btw it did the same behavior with a different speed controller. Thx

Re: Radio cutting out going down hills
Sounds like a connection to the radio or something internal of the radio.
First, I would put a voltmeter on the incoming power wire to the radio and monitor while going down hill. If the voltage doesn’t drop, then it’s most certainly something inside the radio. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Re: Radio cutting out going down hills
Going down hills makes me think that the regen voltage is going to high and maybe a safety circuit shutting it off. Try turning the regen armature amps down to zero and see what happens. Hey it might not fix it but it's worth a try. But then again it might.

Walter I don’t know anything about the regen carts. Is the ignition switch wires coming from the controller and then to something else? OP, is your radio wired to your key switch? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Re: Radio cutting out going down hills
Are You accelerating or coasting when this happens?
Have You tried to just stop on the hill to see if the problem is a loose connection triggered by the cart angle? |

That could be related to Controller PWM frequency harmonics interfering with the tuner. Does it also happen if You use a USB stick on AUX input? |
