Well that’s why you use a bigger bolt. :p

Jk. I can see there being a limiting factor even if using the largest bolt you can fit, but wasn’t sure if the difference was enough to be considered better or equal to a 5/16 brass bolt.

I actually grew up with it incorrectly..... Somehow I had learned (inaccurately of course) that gold was the best and was why it was used it high end circuitry. I was in college and got into a debate with my professor and I literally called him out for telling me that gold was not the best. I was respectful of course, but when we were done, he made me set up the meters and in front of 20-25 class mates, I discovered that Silver had the highest conductance and I have NEVER forgotten the lessen learned that day. (Including the one on "Humility!")

The main reason gold is used in electronics instead of silver is due to gold having a much higher corrosion resistance (more noble), even though it does have less conductivity than silver

I originally was thinking to cut up my negative in the “middle”, put on new cable shoes. Then take the shortest, and thickest, possible cable with cable shoe through the obc. And then connect them together. 5 inch cable should be more than enough, how much can that short length affect the power?
Btw Going to run a alltrax 500 controller and FSIP Tourqe motor.
Super annoying that I can’t find a brass or copper bolt☹️☹️

If You use a 4ga cable of around 12 inches in length It will not be noticeable at all (copper is a better conductor by far than anything other than brass you could use for a stud).

Your main concern should be the to make a good electrical connection between the two different cables.

If Your controller is close to the OBC, it may be better to just run the 4ga wire directly to the Controller B- and not have a splice on that side of the OBC.
