Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
I have searched under every permutation I can think of, to no avail...
I will be installing an HXJS-4805 electronic pedal. Brake Pedal will run Ausco Read Discs & Jakes Front Hydraulics. Because of the electronic throttle retrofit, there will no longer be a release to the brake pedal parking release dog/cam from the new throttle. I am assuming a hand brake is an easy addition, and figured someone here had done it. Is it as simple as installing it and tying the cabling into the rear discs? Am I oversimplifying it? Many thanks Chris |

Re: Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
Club Car, Ezgo, and Yamaha all have a 2 part brake pedal. The top section sets the park brake. Pressing the bottom section releases the park brake.
What cart are you asking about? |

‘87 Royal Ride, based on his other thread.

Re: Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
Correct - '87 Royal Ride (club car)
If the mechanical pedal is eliminated, there is nothing to release the paw on the parking brake. Figured I would delete the pedal mounted parking brake and add a separate hand parking brake. Wondering if there is a better way, or how difficult it is to add a hand brake? Many thanks Chris |

Re: Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
I just realized I may have overcomplicated this. Does pressing the brake release the parking brake on an '87 Club Car DS? I was under the impression that only the gas pedal did?
Forgive me if this is idiotic - I "daily" a Star EV with no dual brake and with a manual hand parking brake - hence the reason I went straight to that for a fix! Thanks |

Re: Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
Can this electronic pedal replace the pedal on an MCOR1 or 4 retrofit Club Car DS? I do not like MCOR's made anywhere. I get a year at most out them.

Re: Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
I’m not nearly knowledgeable enough to answer the MCOR question!

Re: Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
I looked at this in detail, and there are paws/cams on the gas pedal, that I am removing, so I am assuming that the park brake will not work with the removal of the pedal.
I am doing Jake’s front discs and Ausco rear discs - need to figure out how to park brake this thing!! |

Re: Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
If the brake pedal has 2 semi independent sections it works like this... press the top section to set the brake. Press the bottom section to release the brake.

Re: Electronic Throttle Pedal Conversion - Parking Brake
Thank you scottyb - I am literally reassembling it on the cart to see how this mechanism works. I think I am over complicating it, but it seems like the gas pedal has the paws that would lock the brake pedal.
Will report back! |
