Default solinoid qustion

with the key on and the cart in F i tested my solinoid and got 19.6 v without touching the gas pedal when i pressed it all the way down i got 0.0 V and the cart was spinning the wheels (it was on blocks )

That's not really the way I would test the solenoid but if you were measuring across the small posts, your measurement is correct.

1) To measure the voltage on your solenoid measure from the negative on your battery pack to the large lug on the solenoid that is connected to the positive post on the battery pack, it should read pack voltage (38.2v).
2) Then measure the voltage from the negative on your battery pack to the other large lug on the solenoid that is connected to the controller, it should read a few volts less than pack voltage.
3) Turn on the key and depress the throttle until the solenoid clicks and the post that runs to the controller should now be pack voltage.

I did that already And I'm still getting 21.2 volts with the switch off on the controller side. the solenoid is new.
