The motor shaft is only supported by the input shaft in the rear end, when the motor is bolted to the rear end. When you look at the diagram posted, you will see a 0 ring in the case of the rear end when you remove the input shaft from the rear end. The 0 ring is what seals the bearing

RIB33024, Do you know if there is supposed to be an oil seal in front of the snap ring on the input shaft? I see one in some of the Dana drawings. Mine has just the snap-ring and then the first bearing. You can see a pic of input shaft in my previous post. Also, note the residue on the housing around the input shaft. Is that normal or does it suggest diff oil leaking into this area? Thanks

The 0 ring is the only seal, and the sealed bearing. The residue on the housing around the input shaft Is normal for a cart that old. change the two bearings, and the 0 ring/seal and you will be good
