Re: help with new motor in old cart
Being in a workhorse I would bet its a series motor. A DCS should have 2 small cables....somewhere around 10-12 gauge wire and then 2 larger cables. The 2 smaller will be for the feild and the 2 larger will be for the armature.

Laz? Have you considered having EMP rewind your motor? I talked to them about the Melex motor at one point and they were very reasonable and had it in stock!

Re: help with new motor in old cart
You can wire a shunt motor to resistors but there would be way too much monitoring to do and one miss would result in a burn motor.

Re: help with new motor in old cart
I bought a 98 workhorse from the police athletic league (100.00) and it has a controller set up but I dont want to switch to controller I want to stay with resisters anyway I finished the install today and this thing screams its as fast as my other engine and all Im running is 48v on the other one that I smoked was on 60v. I have to get the camera out and take vids of this thing popping wheelies from a dead stop.
