Install State of Charge meter in 2009 RXV

Sorry Steve, I didn't see anything about Club Car's only on this one.

The switch on this unit is sealed in the back so to check the voltage at each wire I'd have damage it.

I was hoping someone knew what the factory gray wire was for.

Thanks for the input,

Chris

FYI.

OK, I just jumpered from the positive + to the C lug to power the meter.

Because the original wiring is through the switch it’s only powered when the switch is on.

So, it’s working fine.

As far as the Gray lead goes, it has 6 volts only. I assume the EZGO meter takes 6 Volts.

The meter I bought needs 9 to 48 volts.

Nothing to blame Steve about, this thread was originally in the CC sparky section, and just recently got moved here!

Carry on!

You dont have to remove anything to install the OEM SOC gauge. Cut 2 inch hole near key switch, reach in from behind dash and grab jumper wire that already there, plug in new SOC gauge to this jumper wire and install gauge into hole. Easy 5 minute job. I just did this today. Love it.

I've got one if you're still looking... It will not let me upload, though. System says the file is too large (roughly 20mb). Also know this was several years ago lol

Agree! I put this one in as well. Wish I had seen the original thread removing the dash. The meter tracks well with the pack voltage readings from my DVM but has yet to show 100% SOC after charge even though pack voltage is 52V --meter showing 99%. However, this is better than the OEM mechanical meter which always over ranged, > 100% post charge so there was always some interpolation required for SOC as you used the cart. The most useful info is pack voltage which directly correlates to that actual state of charge of the pack.
