Default New controller for 03 DS series Club Car

Hey guys,

Any thoughts on what would I gain if upgraded my stock controller on a DS 2003 48 V Series Club Car. It has a Jakes 6" lift, rear seat, new PQ Bandit. It does about 19MPH on the flat. I was thinking about a 400 amp controller.

Thanks for any input.

just my opinion but if you want any real noticeable improvments you need to go bigger than 400amps.......just my opinion.............................

Have a look at the Alltrax website www.alltraxinc.com and go to Document Depo then Technical Notes and see notes 1 and 3. Should give you some usefull guidance.

you have 3 options for more speed:
1. higher voltage
2. larger diameter tires
3. gear ratio change
(4. motor upgrade but you already have that)

all 3 options will require a different controller. options 2 & 3 will pull more current (amps) so you will need a controller and cabling capable of supplying that demand. ie: get the biggest you can afford.

even if you do not do any of the above upgrades, upgrading your cabling to a thicker gauge and your controller to a model capable of higher amperage will give you more torque. ie: you will still do 19, but you'll get there much quicker and with more authority.
