Default New owner of G1 looking to recreate!!! Any input??? please?

Hello all, I am new to the golf cart seen. I belong to a group where we build custom trucks and motorcycles. I just recently started looking into the golf cart scene do to my parents wanting one to cruise the campground on. I must say I am very impressed with what all of you do with these things. I bought a G1 for my parents and it needs some work. Initially I thought a little paint and body and this would be good to go. I found that the frame must have rusted some and they tried to refab their own in spots with some extra metal, also the muffler was rotted through so now its time to strip it down and while down that far let the customizing begin. As far as the looks department goes I haven't decided what to do, I was gonna leave it low but may lift now. Can I make a front cowl from a newer buggy work on this? Any performance mods or just plane cautions I should be aware of as I dive into this project? I look forward to working with you all on this project and helping where I can.

Welcome to the BGW! We have a couple of G1's, we have started working on one of them and I am still not sure what all we are doing to it (hubby is doing the work, I just take the pics and hold things for him every once in a while). You should post a pic, it's fun to watch them transform!
