Default Battery light issue

Hey guys was wonder if you all could help me. I have a club car precedent 48v cart that shows 48 volts on full charge. After I drive for about an hour the battery light comes off and one when I press the pedal. The cart also seems to slow down as well. I check voltage on each batter when I get home and they show 11.6 or so. And 47v total. Not sure why the light would be coming on.

You batteries are run down, this makes the battery light come on. 50.9 volts is full charge. 47 volts is less than 50% state of charge.

48v after a charge is nothing. How old are they, and is the charger turning off?

Your batteries are on the way out.

Make sure the water level is correct in each cell. Plug in the charger and let it charge until it shuts off, then unplug it for about a minute and plug it back in again. Let it run again until it shuts off. This will make the charger run a different charge setting that will help to break up sulfation on the plates. They will out gas a lot, so make sure the area where it charges is well ventilated. This can help prolong battery life and will help to rebalance a pack where the batteries have slightly different voltages.

It's time for some new batteries. That light is warning you to go back home or you're gonna get stranded.

As far as I know, you will have to drive the cart at least a little to allow for the obc/charger to kick on again. Even just a couple feet will do.
