Default 36v to 48v

So I have a 1989 club car DS limo, I'm converting it from old resistor coils to a solid state drive. I want to do 48 volt but the batteries I have are brand new. could I just add two more 6 volt batteries and put them under my front seat and everything be fine??

Anywhere you have the room they will work. You just need to make sure they are in series correctly for your total 48 volts. With 8x6's, you will have a tremendous amp-hour capability (distance/loading).

And make sure that new controller and your solenoid is capable of 48 volts. Also the diode is 3 amp and the resistor is 470 Ohms.

You will also need a 48v Charger.

Here is a search from the For Sale section of this site. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/searc...archid=5372513 Take a look and see if you can save yourself a few dollars. You will be looking for a 48v charger that does not require an OBC.

Here is a link to the site sponsors and suppliers http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/site-sponsors.php

Here is the best on the market in my opinion https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...rger-13-18-amp as it is a smart charger (high requency) and has bluetooth for monitoring and updating along with on and off board capabilities.

My charger now stays on the golf cart and is wired directly to the batteries. Can i do that with any charger.

It is dependent upon which charger you purchase. Some, like the Summit II can, and I believe some of the Delta Q's can go on-board or off-board. But the larger Links, DPI, etc. are not that way. Although if you can squeeze them in somewhere you could wire it direct, but those are big and bulky and may not hold up well to the bouncing.
