I see no adjustments on your controller like the newer 700 FSIP I have, but saying that, if you're able to turn 26" tires no problem and you're able to drag other golf carts through mud, what else are you trying to accomplish? If it's getting more speed, a controller won't help with that. A different motor would, but you need to know with series carts there's always a trade off with speed and torque.

I'd call chuck before getting a new controller. He can build you a 2 speed motor so you get the speed and keep the torque for when you need it.

I will agree, your controller looks like it's seen better days and who knows what kind of amperage it's really putting out at it's age and condition, but there's no way your getting 700 amps to your motor.
Got it
id like to get the most out of it if i can, any more i can get obviously id like to,
Not sure if i need to go to a reverse contact switch instead of the old lever type or if that would help.. I know my Vglide has seen better days but i put a new brush in it .. I honestly dont think the first 2 contacts on it work cause when i press the pedal i hear the solenoid click but no movement for about an inch and then it lerches forward lol

I have 2g weldind cable on everything now( pictures here are old) and i didnt notice much with that

8 6volts im sure are holding it back a little with weight but it moves along just fine

guess im trying to squeeze blood from a turnup here

In that first picture, is the small black wire with red crimp under or over the big cable lug?

It should be over the big cable lug.

Remember Amps equate to power and Voltage relates to speed. So if you are reaching your maximum RPM with the current motor, controller and tire combination (FD Ratio), there is nothing a stronger controller can do but get you to your current speed faster. If you are not getting there due to lag, a stronger controller could help or better designed speed motor. If you are up against your FD ratio in RPM's, you will have to change the ratio to get more speed. And yes, what you add to one end you will take from the other.
