Default Correct Ezgo Charger

I am new to the carting world and recently purchased a used EZGO Model J302. First thing I did was checked batteries and added distilled water in batteries that needed it. I then charged the cart with the charger given to me with cart (Model #DLDZ-48V6A) it is silver and rectangular.

Cart ran great for about 2 months. Then one day it died after riding for maybe 20 mins. I checked batteries and they were all dry. My initial thought is that the charger is not the correct one for the cart and it basically over charged my batteries? Does this sound correct?

Has anyone had this issue? If so, what charger do you guys recommend?

The manufacture code you gave indicates a 2002 cart and the charger you list is 48v. How many fill caps are in each battery? 3 or 4 ?

There are a total of 6 batteries with 4 fill caps per battery.

6/8v. So the voltage is correct. Do you have a voltmeter on the cart so you can monitor the voltage?

Sure don’t. Just the generic line meter that shows the battery level.

Time to "tool up" if you want to fix this yourself. Fortunately, the cheap-*** $0-5 harbor freight meter is good enough (the cheap hardware store ones will be fine too)

I suggest every cart should have an in-dash digital battery voltmeter.
