Default HD solonoid/controller question

I recently tried to upgrade my solonoid on my 03 clubcar with and 18hp D&D motor and a 500 apm alltrax controller. When i went to drive it, i heard some quiet popping and after looking at things again i saw a black dust on the controller coming out of the holes as if it was smoking. 2 questions here, i think i fried my controller somehow by incorrectly hooking up the HD solonoid. Is it possible to have this fixed or will i need to purchase a new one? Also, I am looking for the least expensive route to get my cart running again even if performance has to be sacrificed. I don't have my original controller but should i buy a used stock controller just to get going again? Any thoughts??

Default Re: HD solonoid/controller question

When you installed your new HD solenoid did you replace with new the Diode unit and the proper resistor and installed them correctly? Then I would next check with D&D motors to be sure that new motor was wired correctly and any help they can give you. Then I would get on the phone to the wonderful Alltrax people about what you should do in case you had one of the ( one in a million defective ) Alltrax controllers?
