If it, however, is a DCS controller.

Re: I took the plunge, E-Z-GO TXT
Here is what EZGO says the cart was when it left the factory.
Search Results Make: TXT Type: Electric 36 V Model: TXT Standard Year: 2002 So for future reference, describing it as a "2002 TXT Series" would eliminate the what cart do you have questions. |

Re: I took the plunge, E-Z-GO TXT
To answer the original question:
There is no magic chip for a cart with a series wound motor. With a good set of batteries, it will do about 12-14MPH on standard height (18") tires. To get more speed, you must increase battery pack voltage, or install taller tires, or change the differential gear ratio, or a combination thereof. If you go to taller tires or faster gears, you will also loose a mathematical equal amount of torque and have to upgrade controller, cables and F/R switch because motor is going to draw more current. Basically, your cart (and all others) was designed to carry two golfers about 275 yards over groomed trails, stop for about ten minutes and then repeat the process 18 times before the batteries are recharged. To do anything other than that, you need to upgrade it. |

Re: I took the plunge, E-Z-GO TXT
That is exactly what i was looking up but you beat me to the punch ;)
So, far i understand that i have a series type system. I would gather that i am going to have to get underneath it to see what motor i have. I am curious as to how much more voltage i can give the motor without overheating it. I realize that depends on % throttle and time. |

Re: I took the plunge, E-Z-GO TXT
You can use the stock motor on 48v and you will be more than happy with the results. An Alltrax 4855, a 48v battery pack, minimum 4 ga. cables, hd solenoid and hd f/r switch and you'll be grinning ear to ear. 48v charger also required. You have a great base to upgrade.

bokeasmowl, thanks great reply. I guess the only thing left to know is what type of throttle i have. Alltrax, has 7 options for it.

Your cart has an ITS throttle. (Inductive Throttle Sensor)
