Just checked after changing the 9volt and they read 8.4 across the board. Wow I would never thought that a low batterie would do that. I was sh**ting my pants, I was thinking if that was the case they would have exploded.

Do controllers have a certain cut off limit? Or do they just shut down when the batteries are out of juice?

Not to my knowledge the cart will run till you run out of volts.

If you fool with your under voltage level in your controller you are by passing the safety feature of protecting your batteries from damage ( unless some one changed the original mfg. settings)
To get more range you need a higher amp/ hr battery (go to 6 volt batts)

How does that work? As I have seen carts get slower and slower till they didn't move. Not a sudden point that they cut off.
