Lestronic 2 Charger not shutting off
Need some advise on a Lestronic 2 Charger.
Just returned to Az for winter, and when I charged my cart the charger was still humming after about 9 hours although the batteries were at full charge. I noticed the amp meter still shows about 12 amps, and it's been unplugged for several days. Anybody experience this before? I'm thinking the charger isn't shutting off because the amp meter's broken, and showing it's not fully charged? |

Re: Lestronic 2 Charger not shutting off
The most common cause is the batteries are not reaching the charger cut off voltage. What is the highest battery pack voltage you saw before you shut it off?
And what are the individual battery voltage readings as it sit now? And to help evaluate these readings; how long have the batteries been off the charger when the readings were taken? |

Scotty Even after driving it for about an hour today the batteries all have between 6.18, and 6.23 volts. This charger has always been very noisy, and I don't mind that, but it always charges OK. Just now it doesn't shut off when done, and the needle don't go back to zero like normal. What do you suggest for an inexpensive fix? Thanks |

Re: Lestronic 2 Charger not shutting off
Well the stuck needle has nothing to do with charger not shutting off, meter is an indicator for you, not the charger control board. Having the needle functional would be great, so you can know what's going on. If your voltages while on charge are getting where they should for that charger (around 58-60v while on charge), the board is bad. The board for that charger is crazy expensive, you could buy a nicer DPI for less than a board for the Lester.

Thanks CGTech
Sounds like I'll be shopping for a different charger. |

Maybe I jumped to conclusions?
Put charger on Sunday night, and shut off by itself some time Monday morning. I'll keep track of it, and hope it's not defective. |
