You have chosen an odd-ball cart for your project. Melex is a copy of an easy go but a poor copy in so much as plentiful Ezgo parts do not fit the cart for the most part. PQ can rework your motor for a gain of 2-3mph. You will sacrifice some torque for the speed gain. Go that route if you are okay with the loss. Or do it yourself if you are capable of advancing the motor timing.
For most people the best bet and by far the biggest bang for the buck is the voltage increase. It would help us make applicable suggestions if we knew what your goals were and what you needs or expectations were for the carts performance is. We really are quite helpful.
