Re: 85 G1 Solidstate conversion
Nice work Did you determine were to mount the f/r assy? Shure would be nice to build a cover box for the controller and other electronic's to keep battery acid away.

Re: 85 G1 Solidstate conversion
I'm gonna mount the f/r switch under the front bench seat... the new seats are coming in tomorrow so I'll have the new seat frame welded this weekend and I'll be able to mount the new switch and with any luck be able to finish the wiring. The thought of shielding the electronics occurred to me but I'm still not sure what the best way of going about it would be and still allow for some air flow...

Re: 85 G1 Solidstate conversion
haha... no wife, but i did think of using a small plastic trash can and cutting it in half... last week i pick out a cheap plastic shoe box for the back cover of the f/r switch...i'm sure i'll think of something when the time comes...

Re: 85 G1 Solidstate conversion
Finally had time to get it running :D here's another update... all that's left is a little tweaking and cosmetics, so far it runs and handles good... but it makes me wish for a roll cage and a 3-point harness... It's on the to do list i guess...
Anyone have an idea on the right tubing size and gauge for a functioning roll cage on a cart? Joe |
