G1's have 2 solenoids (1 for forward/1 for reverse) and the key switch would select f/r. G2's have 1 solenoid and a maual forward/reverse switch (by drivers right leg). "In the old day's", we would sometimes add an extra solenoid, small sesistor coil and switch to activate it. It was called "overdrive", and could get you alittle more speed, but only on flat ground. Figure out witch model you have and I'm shure we can find you a wireing diagram. By the way...Welcome to BGW

I have no model number on the cart. I went to yamaha.com and went throught the early models and g1 look just like my cart. same frame. This cart was made in Japan and had the tube frame. no lights. But it had 3 soleniods when I purchased it. It also had 3 12v batteries instead of 6 6v batteries.
I would like to change to the 6 6v system and have the 6 batteries the way it should be. Any help would most appreciated.
