Default 2008 Yamaha Drive

I just purchased a 2008 Yamaha Drive with 2 year old trojan 12V batteries for 1800, i think i got a pretty good deal, I love the cart. The seat has a pretty good sized rip in it, it does not look like the seat cover can be replaced since its molded into the plastic base. I found the part for the seat assembly onliine for about $100, does anyone know if it is the entire seat, cushion, cover, and base, just bolt it on?

http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/ya...401-00-00.html

Also, I read about unhooking the regen braking will speed it up some, has anyone done this and does it make a noticable difference?

I was thinking of doing the ptv code upgrade through a dealer, does anyone know how much this costs?

I would appreciate any help with these questions.

It will be complete less hinges and handles. You can get a cover only for it and staple underneath the seat covering the black plastic. You will need a very heavy duty air stapler.

That's a good price on the seat. Don't recommend unplugging the motor sensor, the controller reads off it to function correctly.

I used to charge 1 hr labor ($70.00) to reprog the drive controller to the ptv code.

I bought a replacement seat cover (60.00) and used a hand stapler with no issues (had to use a small hammer to drive some of them in all the way). Yes, it covers up the plastic trim, but you dont even notice it after its on.

Yamaha Road Star is more comfortable and has eliminated vibration from the floorboards, seat and handlebars. Yamaha Road star 2008 has fuel-injected motor which gives superb driving experience.
