Default ParCar Tram huge tires no torque. upgrading 48v, rewiring,

I got this craigslist wonder aka Ford Ranger...(insert redneck comment below). a while back to fix up and play here in Galveston Tx area. I am ready to get this going. We replaced the burnt stock controller with a used controller 1204 and it works but no torque due to massive tires. new batteries, New potbox 0-5 3 wire.

I temped to swap in the 700 amp before the cables get her just to see if it will work once with catching fire LOL. I already have fire extinguisher ready... I'm replacing all that wiring anyway. Just once while i wait on the parts LOL

What I have: par car tram c10E (electric) not sure on the year but I think 2000
.
700 amp 1204 rebuilt controller.
A super duty 36-48 400-100 amp super noid (scottyb)
# 2 awg cables
I'm getting the super duty 48v reversing contactor w/switch
Brakes work decent but i ordered some shoes
new battery's from sams. I didn't have to pay tax (: gotta get 2 more)
I need a 48V charger.

After I upgrade basically everything to get these big wheels rolling. Right now it just getting stuck in flat dry grass. but does great top end about 25 on flat paved street.
Is there anything else I could do to help the torque?
Upgrading to 48 volt contingencies? I appreciate your diligence in this matter.

Just finished the test drive after swapping out the 36 V 275 amp to a 48V 700 amp. she's got torque all right. The controller upgrade in amps allowed me to drive straight through my ditch. Before the swap i used to get stuck on little tiny hills. I can't wait to get the rest of the stuff in and installed so everything will be reliable and safe.
Should I upgrade to 48 V? I have plenty of room for batteries. Suggestions?
