2002 ezgo txt controller help
I’m helping my dad upgrade a 2002 ezgo txt series cart from 36volt to 48volts and I’m swapping out one Curtis controller for another. We had the original Curtis 1276 that had M-, B-, B+, and a 5 pin connector. The new controller is the 1204M 325A 36-48v and Has M-,A2, B-, B+, & J 1-5. My dad got the controller from one of his neighbors unused so I’ve got 3 questions.
1. The first controller didn’t have A2 and this one does. Do I need to incorporate that into the wiring? 2. Which wires from the 5 pin go where on the new controller? 3. I’ve read about programmable controllers from other forums here. Do I need to take the controller somewhere to get it programmed or should it have a basic setup? |

Re: 2002 ezgo txt controller help
You can ignore the controller A2 terminal connections and run the cables by(past) the controller...so if the install diagram shows A2 and the F&R cables landing on the controller A2 terminal you can run from F&R to Motor A2 without terminating at the A2 leaving the controller A2 connection empty

I concur, no programming needed, or possible. Ignore the extra terminal, and hook it up as it was.

Re: 2002 ezgo txt controller help
Ok I hooked up M-, B-, & B+ the same as the old controller. I have a red, orange, black, and white cables that were connected to a 5 pin(only 1st 4 were used). The new controller does not have the 5 pin so what would be the coerect hookup into the new J tabs? Orange comes from F&R. Red comes from key. Black and white come from pedal. (I think)

Are you certain the throttle type is the same?
We can't see the pictures - they are small and the quality is too low to enlarge. |

Scotty B I’ll be reaching out to get one of your alltrax controllers. I don’t have anyone around me that can program the controller from the stock 0-5k to ITS.
