Re: 2017 YDRE2 Rear End “clunking”
JW2 input shaft is for Team axle, not the one you have.

Re: 2017 YDRE2 Rear End “clunking”
In your opinion do those go out in this scenario, or would it be a motor coupler/ I should just buy a better motor? It’s a substantial investment because I would need a new controller to go with it. I don’t mind spending the money if it’s necessary though.

Re: 2017 YDRE2 Rear End “clunking”
I'm not confident at all that a 2017 input shaft is bad.

Re: 2017 YDRE2 Rear End “clunking”
The input shaft looks pretty decent to me as well. So I guess it’s the motor coupler. I don’t know what it should look like in good condition, but it shows some rounding on edges. I tried to get a good photo of it, but I don’t know if it is clear enough to tell after uploading. Is it worth it to replace (and can I do it myself) or would a motor replacement be a better option?

I cant get a good read on the motor coupler from your pic, but the input shaft splines look ok.

Re: 2017 YDRE2 Rear End “clunking”
In your opinion is a motor coupler something I can replace DIY with “standard” tools or would I need to buy something special? Thank you for sharing all your knowledge!

Re: 2017 YDRE2 Rear End “clunking”
Not standard tools. In order to do it yourself, you would need a welder to remove it, and a press to install a new one.

Re: 2017 YDRE2 Rear End “clunking”
Check the axle nut torque, I've had a couple of clunkers that had loose axle nuts.....
