Default workhorse 670 predator

I know this has been done and talked about but i just purchased a workhorse with a bad engine. i have made the decision to put a predator 670 in it. couple of questions.
1. how do you keep it quiet?
2. i am looking at a cradle kit from Vegas Carts is this the best kit?
3. the cart has a stock 4 inch drop axle will i need anymore lift?
4 I know more speed and power but what other pros and cons to this application.

Default Re: workhorse 670 predator

I haven't done a 670 in a WH but I have one in my G1.

1. how do you keep it quiet?
The factory muffler that comes on the 670 is actually very very quiet.

2. i am looking at a cradle kit from Vegas Carts is this the best kit?
They are the only one I know of that makes the proper cradle kit for that, could be wrong. Vegas Carts makes good stuff!

3. the cart has a stock 4 inch drop axle will i need anymore lift?
I'd give it a try. That cradle that Vegas makes sits pretty low so I think you might be ok. To be sure, call the guys at Vegas Carts, they would know. They've done a bunch of 670 installs. The good thing on a WH is the rear suspension really doesn't move lol, so that won't create suspension movement type interference.

4 I know more speed and power but what other pros and cons to this application.
Your need for speed is limited by final drive ratio and rpm. So mods that change those will achieve your goals. (rev kit, big tires, 8:1 or 6:1 gears) Just adding this engine will NOT increase your top speed much, maybe 1-3 mph compared to a stock WH engine. You WILL have way more power!! Acceleration will be excellent!!!!

I will also add good brakes to this list. Adding front brakes is by far the best safety item you can add to a golf cart IMO. With extra speed, good brakes are a must!

Fuel usage is a con. My stock 670 goes through 3 gallons in a hurry. I think it uses 1 gallon per hour!

Louder than stock is a con to some.

The extra money you'll spend on modding that engine....con
