So you went with the 40% loss in power afterall?
At least you may have have a higher top speed on flat terrain. I found the bigger tires on my old g1 gave me much faster speeds but I could no longer carry passengers or weight in the back.

This winter may entail swapping out the 18hp Briggs for a 23hp Briggs.....,

It does feel stronger, more stable and faster

I think the difference is the spindle lift brings the wheels forward, I had trouble with the 5" dropped axle lift and 25s.

It might feel that way but larger tires change the gearing and kill torque.. its a given regardless. I say this as someone with a lifted diesel..
