So not really worth doing anything with this one…gotta give the boss lady something on why I’m getting a new and not fixing.

Re: Difference in compression numbers, what does it mean
You will have to send it into motors and more as a core or they charge a bunch of extra $

Or do you mean a new cart 😆 If so go for the new cart. I am sure CP241 will offer a few bucks for the old one. In your defence, you would not be getting a new engine, you would be getting it rebuilt if she won't do it for you! don't give up, these engines are easy to rebuild. Buy the parts required, download the engine rebuild manual and start reading. Some basic tools and you will surprise yourself. I am no help here, gotta get back to the nincompoops club and wait for that shipment of assorted wire nuts Trig is sending me. |

Re: Difference in compression numbers, what does it mean
I would recommend rebuilding yourself if at all possible I got taken to the cleaners once at one of these so called "engine core swap places". I definitely had a rebuildable core because that is what they did. They rebuilt mine and added 300 bucks to the price. Total was over a 1000 dollars and they held my engine hostage until I paid the extra 300. Very deceiving.

This company explains that very plain before you send it to them. Not sure which company you used but the one I recommended do what they say. They tell you up front what the cost could be but there is no way they would know unless they have the engine. Did you buy from this company ? |

Re: Difference in compression numbers, what does it mean
I don’t mind rebuilding myself, my knowledge isn’t great but that manual that EZGO has made tearing down easy.
I’m definitely talking about the engine not the cart I like this one too much. So if I go the rebuild route can I reuse the crankshaft for the next size up piston? Do I need a new top end? Or is there something I can do that keeps everything I have and just bore out the cylinder and get new pistons and rods? Do any of you experts offer phone calls…hahahaha |

Re: Difference in compression numbers, what does it mean
[QUOTE] My bet is you needed a crankshaft and they are not cheap and also rare.

Re: Difference in compression numbers, what does it mean
Alright. Got the engine back from Motors and More. Engine runs fine however I top out at 8/9 mph and the driven clutch doesn’t open (First video). Swapped it with the driven clutch in second video from Trig123 and didn’t change anything. We are hoping for some insight as to why the driven clutch won’t open.
