Default EZGO RXV Converter Question

I have an RXV and want to make sure that the converter is actually working properly. Are there some ways to determine if the converter is doing what is supposed to?

I am fixing to get new batteries and want to make sure im not going to ruin the ones with lights connected to it.

I have it running through the pack and i do remember the negative line is hooked to the back battery and cant remember exactly where i ran the positive line to now but i believe it was to the solenoid.

Also the lights or horn do not work when the key is off if that helps tell you anything.

Check the output with a volt meter. If you have a simple 4-lead reducer, it should be @12V. Your NEG probe should touch Battery NEG. Somewhere it should tell you which wire is the hot output, might be YELLOW.

If you're using the ezgo converter, and have it connected properly, it will kill all power to the 12 volt circuit when the key is in the off position. I'd have to go look at my cart but there his like an orange connector from the main wiring harness to the converter. It provides the status of the key switch etc. to the converter. On my cart the lights and the stereo turn off and the horn & turn signals are disabled.

I got a cheap Chinese controller. The positive line is hooked to solenoid and the negative is hooked to the negative pack battery. The volts on the lights (accessories) side reads 12.1V and about 50V on the other side. No voltage going through converter when key is off.

Actually get 12.1V when touching negative converter wire with probe but 13.3 when negative probe is touching negative on a battery
